How is the Heavy Update treating you?

Well the heavy update has been live for a week now, and I’m starting to warm up to it. One of the larger (and unexpected) chunk of this update was arena mode. I’ve played arena mode almost exclusively to see the new alpine map set. I like the map set, arena is still growing on me. Sitting out provides excellent motivation to win, but at the same time I don’t like sitting out of a game. I’ve also found that arena makes it really hard to get a good cohesive team effort. For example, i was playing and red was dominating us, but the guys i was working with were great. We were all talking, working together, I loved it. Then i had to sit out a round and the team i was working with won, and now i had to play with a whole group of people that I didn’t know (and frankly didn’t work well together).

So far I only have the sandvich, which is an excellent unlock if you like hearing the heavy make a loud “NOM NOM” sound. Other than that, I don’t have much use for it. Without your shotgun the heavy is much easer to pick off and extremely slower (because you keep your gun spun up so much more because you don’t have a shotgun to defend you when retreating).

Rumors are that natasha isn’t that great, and if the tiny amount of people i’ve seen using it are any indication the rumors are right. Sounds like natasha is good against most classes, but terrible against a heavy, and it makes sense. When a heavy’s gun is spun up, he’s slow anways! What damage does a 25% decrease in speed do?

The new payloud map is fun as hell, but I’ve loved the payload game type since day one. I’ve seen some amazing teamwork on this map and it’s really helped me get back into TF2 (playing too much 24/7 2fort starts to wear on your interest in a game).

My final verdict is that I think there was a bit too much content in this patch, but what is there is good enough to keep me happy.
